Dalai Lama arrives in Latvia on four nation Europe tour

The Tibetan leader will give a two day teaching on Heart Sutra (sherab nyingpo) & Gyalsey Thokme Sangpo's 37 Practices of a Bodhisattva (laklen sodunma) starting today. The 1989 Nobel peace laureate will then travel to Norway where he will give teaching on Geshe Langri Thangpa's Eight Verses of Training the Mind (lojong tsikgyema) May 8, and a public talk on “Cultivating Compassion in Everyday Life” on May 9. His Holiness will then travel to Netherlands where he will give a discourse on The Three Principal Paths (lamtso namsum in Rotterdam. His Holiness will give a public talk on “Well-being, Wisdom and Compassion: a Secular Approach”. The Tibetan leader will wrap up his Europe tour with a series of public events in Franfurt, Germany where he will deliver a public talk on “Self-Awareness and Compassion” on May 14. His Holiness will meet with high school children to talk about “Secular Ethics in Our Common World” and discuss how to create a culture of tolerance and good cooperation in schools. His Holiness will participate in a discussion with philosopher Rainer Forst and others on “Ethics Beyond Religion” organized by Tibet House Germany in cooperation with the City of Frankfurt and Geothe University. |
